Strawberry Cream Cheese Kookies
What you will need:
1 Butter Kookie Mix, 4 Tablespoons softened butter, 4 ounces softened cream cheese, 1 egg, 1/2 cup diced strawberries.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix Kookie mix, butter, egg and cream cheese until combined.
Gently fold the diced strawberries into dough.
At this point, you can refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes. You can also just proceed to baking the cookies by rolling the dough into balls and placing on the prepared baking sheet.
Do not flatten the cookies if you are baking immediately, they will spread on their own.
If you refrigetate the cookie dough before baking, check after baking for 5 minutes to see if they are spreading, if not, you can gently press to flatten.
Bake 10-12 minutes.
Remove from oven and let cool.
NOTE: To make the heart shaped Kookie Cake, double the recipe and bake approximately 25 minutes. Start checking at 20 minutes. There is no need to refrigerate the dough before baking. After mixing the ingreadients, just pat the dough into pan and bake.
Top with whipped cream and diced strawberries, eat plain or add sugar free Strawberry preserves to softened cream cheese and frost.
